Obituary of Wayne Harold Scanlon

Scanlon, Wayne Wayne Scanlon passed away peacefully at home on September 21, 2023 at the age of 74. He was surrounded by love and supported by family. Wayne was the beloved husband of Gloria (Walker), whom he met in 1969, and was married to in 1976. He will be deeply missed by his children, Meegan Scanlon (Jordan) and Sarah Scanlon. Grandpa was also greatly cherished by his granddaughter Molly. Wayne was born on April 11th , 1949 and was raised on a farm just outside of Orillia by his parents Marie (2017) and Gordon (1990) Scanlon with his siblings, Murray Scanlon (Kathleen) and Lynda Ashcroft (Ivan), and his bonus brother Art Crawford (Joan). He has been a respected and passionately contributing community member for many years. Wayne has put down deep roots in the area and his death will be greatly felt. Known by many for his involvement and volunteer work, as well as running his business for over 40 years. He was the much-loved son, brother, husband, father, cousin, uncle, friend, and advisor to so many. There will be an open gathering in memory of Wayne on Thursday October 5, 2023, from 2- 4 pm at the Couchiching Golf & Country Club.
