A Celebration of Life for Rodney Mendez Wednesday November 10th 1-3 p.m. Livestreaming will be made available by St. Paul's Church: https://youtu.be/PfTUkxdLHew Rodney Mendez (August 25, 1943 - October 30, 2021) It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Rodney Mendez on October 30th, 2021 in his 79th year. He leaves behind Kathie Mendez (nee Ranney), his best friend, loving wife, and life partner of 31 years. Rod was born in England and was the devoted son of Sydney and Irene Mendez (nee Canfield) both predeceased. He was the loving father of Marc, Dawn (Jason) and Cole and will be affectionately remembered by his grandchildren Sydney, Elliott, Charlie, Theo, Kendra and Isaac. He also leaves behind his father-in-law and friend Arthur Ranney (late Rita 2007) (late Norma 2019), brother-in-law John Ranney (Kelly), nieces Alysha and Makenna and nephews Michael and Jonathan. He will be fondly remembered by his former wife Diane (Brian - predeceased) and many extended family members and friends including his Home Depot family in Bracebridge. Rod lived life on his own terms and passed peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family. He was extremely proud of each of his three children. A man of many talents and skills, Rod fulfilled his dream to design and build his own home on the water. He loved woodworking, gardening and cooking. He had a passion for music and traveling, with Disney and Ecuador among his favorites. He also enjoyed the peace and tranquility of camping in Northern Ontario. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Paul’s United Church, 62 Peter St. N on Wednesday November 10th 2021 at 1:00 p.m. As per current COVID-19 directives capacity is limited, social distancing requirements must be respected, masks or face coverings must be worn, and proof of two vaccinations will be required for the reception following the service.
