Carol, I have been so honoured to be your friend for the past few years. We came together as strangers to teach Living with Stroke but, after about 5 minutes, we were firm friends. We had great adventures in Vancouver and Montreal and wonderful times in Kingston, Sudbury, Toronto and Hamilton. I so cherished getting to know Nicholas, Mavy , Agnes and her family through your stories and your loving regard for each of them. I will miss your passion, your sparkling personality, your laugh and your determination. You are a wonder. I am happy your spirit will always be with us.

Carol touched the lives of so many stroke survivors through her tireless volunteer work with the Living with Stroke program of the Heart and Stroke Foundation. She was also a voice for stroke survivors - reminding us of their struggles navigating an imperfect system of care. Carol was so generous with her kindness - in every single interaction I had with her. Staff across the country shared how much they will also miss her passion, and her sense of humour. Carol, we are committed to ensuring that we find a way to make sure your presence and influence on stroke survivor supports at HSF will be honoured and remembered.

It was a very sad day for me when I learned of the passing of such a dear co-worker of many years at St. Joseph's Health Care Centre in London Ontario. Words can not describe the true feelings that I myself and many others who had the pleasure of knowing and working with such a knowledgeable and devoted nurse are thinking at this time. Carol always was there to lend a hand, provide guidance and share a laugh. When things got hectic and disorganized she was able to take control and make sure the team was performing at their best. Not very often in ones life does one have the privilege of being in the company of such a truly remarkable woman. I am very thankful to have had such an honour.
To all of Carol's friends ,family and co-workers my deepest sympathy. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To Nick,Agnus and Andre ,Owen and I were so sorry to hear of Carols passing.We have some very fond memories of Carol especially the laughter,her zest for life.It had been a few years since I last saw her but she was always in my thoughts.Anything she did or say she did with deep conviction.what a great woman -she will truly be missed

Knew Carol here in Owen Sound for the last few months quite well :) She was a joy to be around. She always listened and tried to help me with any issues I may have had. I drove her around to see the sights and just for the joy of it. Loved her answering message of, I'm sitting by the dock of the bay. I will miss her, there is never enough time!
