Obituary of Betty Kuipers

Kuipers, Gysbertha "Betty" April 5, 1929 - November 16, 2015 Please join us in saying goodbye to our beloved Mother and Grandmother. Betty passed away peacefully in her 87th year in the morning of November 16, 2015. The youngest daughter of Anthonius Kuyer and Gysbertha Knoop, mom was born in Geldermalsen, The Netherlands, the youngest and last member of her generation. She is predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Herman Kuipers. Together they raised a family of three: Marian Wickens (Doug), Sylvia Shaughnessy (Ted), and Brian (Deborah). She will be lovingly missed by grandchildren: Sarah, Christopher, Dana, Katie, and Liam. More than anything else, Mom cherished her marriage, family, and faith. She will also be missed by close relatives and their families, Mia and Huub (Colaris), Ludi and Jim (Cole). All who knew her will miss her playful nature, her quirky sense of humour and that sparkle in her eye. The family is grateful to the staff of Leacock Care Centre for their warmth and conscientious care over the past several years. A visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St. East, Orillia on Thursday, November 19 from 7 - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 115 West St. N., Orillia, on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 10 a.m.You are at peace now Mom.
