I am really, really sad that Ian has passed on. I grew up calling Ian "Uncle Ian" and Amy "Auntie Amy" until my early teens, when I realized that our bonds were those of the heart but not blood. Ian and Amy took part in so many milestones of my life from the bouquet of roses they brought to my first dance duet recital, to Ian giving me away at my wedding. Ian was always a dear friend, so wise, fun, kind and supportive. Ian's family and friends have lost a bright, positive and dynamic soul and we'll all better off for the time we shared with him and memories we get to hold on to. I have many, many awesome memories of Ian! Having lost my dad in 2004, I know how hard it is to deal with this kind of loss, but I wish strength and peace to Amy, Barb, Sue, Rob and all his grandkids and great grandkids. I am so sorry I can't make it to Ont. for the funeral. We chose to make the trip to visit Ian a few weeks ago. I got to tell him how much he meant to me and shared with him all the awesome memories I get to keep. It was a terribly sad goodbye but an important one. Much love to Ian and to Amy and family!

My heart is breaking right along with all of yours.Ian always represented, to me, everything wonderful about humanity. I loved his humour, his smile, his hugs, his wisdom and most of all his unconditional love for all of you...his family. And what's life without family? He has truly touched so many lives and left lasting memories for many. I think he was the "DAD" that so many of us wished we had and the husband that only Amy was lucky enough to "snag"for 59 years. Love to you all. Mitch

To Sue, Paul and family. We're so sorry to hear of your loss - your Dad was a very special guy and I certainly have fond memories of his kindness to me. I do hope that fond memories ease the pain of your grief at this difficult time. We're so sorry we couldn't be with you tomorrow, but you will be in my hearts. Affectionately, Deb and David
