Obituary of Susan Sikkema

Sikkema: Susan (Sjoukje) nee: Schiphof Passed away on August 14th, 2013 peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with cancer at 70 years of age. Born on January 5th, 1943 in Freisland, Netherlands, Susan came to live in Canada after WWII. Susan, beloved wife of Appi Sikkema who is also with the Lord now, is survived by her four children Ken (Jodie) Sikkema of Bradford, ON, Dan Sikkema of Winnipeg, AB, Bonnie Veenstra (Jan) of Anten Mills, ON, Kathleen (Lino) Sikkema of Innisfil, ON. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Shawn & Jordan Veenstra, Blake Sikkema, Abby Sikkema, and Angelica Andrade. She is also survived by her sisters Helen VanderMeer (in God's care), Jenny VanKalsbeek of Orillia, ON, Anne Sell of Eganville, ON and Debbie Schiphof of Orillia, ON. Susan is also survived by former daughter in law Kathleen Murphy and son Dylan who meant the world to her. Visitation will be held at Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E. Orillia on Sunday August 18th from 1 to 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the chapel on Monday August 19th at 11 a.m. We would like to thank NSM-CCAC & Bayshore Home Health Care Services and Dr. Strangway for the wonderful care and support.
