Obituary of Lennard Elliot Thorne

Thorne, Lennard Elliot Passed away peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Tuesday November 14th, 2023, at the age of 83. Born in Hamilton, predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Anne Thorne. Beloved husband of Shirley Thorne (nee House) for 62 years. Loving father of Wendy Thorne, and Gary Thorne (Jennifer Fox). Proud grandfather of James (Chelsea); great grandfather of Roselyn. Dear brother of Gwen Best (Robert), Laurie Blue, and the late Lloyd Thorne. Lennard will be fondly remembered by his family and friends. If keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. A Military Farewell and celebration of Lennard’s life will be held at the Army Navy & Airforce Club, 74 Victoria Street Orillia on Saturday December 9th 2023 at 12:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34 Poppy Fund through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E., Orillia (705) 327 0221.
