I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 In the providence of God, James (Jim) Tuininga was called home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the age of 84 following a brief battle with cancer. Jim was born in Neerlandia, Alberta on December 5, 1937, to Clarence and Trientje Tuininga, he was the fourth of seven children. Jim was a teacher, principal and then a pastor. Following his retirement, he continued to be active in the church, in prison ministries and volunteer driving for the Cancer Society and Helping Hands. He is survived by his wife Irene of 60 years (August 1). Loving father, grandfather and great grandfather of Curtis (predeceased) (Julia) Tuininga: Miranda, Janelle, and Tess; Ken (Joyce) Tuininga: Riley (Shea): {Easton}, Lewis (Melanie): {Kal}, Karlene, and Joelle (Brady); Karen (Herman) Ansink: Andrew and Lia; Denise (Robert) Herfst: Levi (Jalita), Lydia, Sydney and Aubrey. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 10 at 2:00 pm at Living Hope Christian Reformed Church, 50 Fittons Road W., Orillia.
