VanderMeer: John Peacefully went to be with Jesus, at Orillia on Saturday November 12th 2011 in his 76th, year. John VanderMeer beloved husband of the late Helen VanderMeer (nee Schiphof). Much loved father of Richard (Barbara) of Warminster, Dave (Florence) (Lori-predeceased) of Manitoba, Lori VanderMeer of Barrie, Wendy VanderMeer (Edward Boynton) of Moonstone, Randy of Barrie and Chris (Neva) of Orillia. Loving grandfather of sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Son of the late John and Angelina. Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home- 38 James Street E. Orillia on Thursday December 1st from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. then to The Holy Canadian Martyrs Roman Catholic Church (Regent and James Street E. Orillia) for Celebration of Mass for Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Private family interment Barrie Union Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or St. Joseph's Bursary Fund (Catholic Education Fund for granddaughter) would be appreciated by the family and will be received by the Simcoe Funeral Home-38 James Street E.
