Beloved wife of the late Donald Hudson Butt (2005) and Andrew Roy Black (1982). Muriel will be sadly missed by her daughters Bonnie Ainsworth (Jim), son Kenneth Black (Nita), daughter Sheila Slusarek (late Richard), daughter Marti MacKay (Neil). Muriel was one of the six children of Florence and Henry Gordon. Predeceased siblings are Donald Gordon, Joyce Quail, Marjorie Snider, Barry Gordon and Shirley MacKinnon. Loving grandmother of four granddaughters Shaughna Ainsworth, Tanya Richie, Tracy Hexemer, Natasha Wood and three grandson’s Robert, Brian, and Michael MacKay. Step grandmother of Ginger Robert and Jeffrey Thornback. Great Grandmother of Jan Piotrowski, Kaylyn, Laira and Scott (Christopher) Ritchie, Bryn and Jack Hexemer and Benji Wood. Step great-grandmother of Taylor and Trent Robert. Aunt Muriel to numerous nieces and nephews who were like her children. Muriel lived in Toronto in early adulthood and moved with her young family to Orillia in 1959. Her last employment was with the Ontario Regional Centre. She led a busy, fun filled social life and was actively involved in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34 in Orillia; President of C.O.R. Senior’s Club and a member of The Entertainers from Big Cedar Estates. Muriel will be remembered for her joy of entertaining and making others happy and feel loved. Muriel’s legacy will be lovingly remembered by those she leaves behind. A family graveside service will be held at St. Andrew’s St. James’ Cemetery, Orillia.
