Shirley Handy was one of my mother's forty-two first cousins on her father's side of the family. So I only ever met Shirley and Jim in the context of an annual Archer Family Reunion. I was impressed when Jim introduced himself to me following my father's death. He said had they known about my father's funeral they would have come to that. I called Shirley just last month as I was updating my mother's Christmas card list. She was so eager to talk and share information about her family. Who would have ever guessed that a month later we should hear of her demise? I believe that that is Jim and Shirley standing on the extreme left of this 2018 Archer Family Reunion. RECQVIESCAT IN PACE.

I was saddened to hear of Aunt Shirley's passing. She had a lovely smile that lit her whole face. She was always welcoming and genuinely interested in what was happening in our family. When Wayne and I were first married she invited us for supper while we were on our honeymoon and made me feel like a welcomed and valued member of the family. And she served the most delicious desserts - so yummy!
My sincere and heartfelt sympathy to Jim, Doug, Cyndi, Shane, Leslie-Ann and families. She will be missed.
