Obituary of Sandra Mae Stanley

Stanley: Sandra Mae (nee Stoutt) May 1, 1945 - November 16, 2020 Passed away peacefully on November 16, 2020 with her daughter by her side, after a visit earlier in the day with her son. She is the wife of the late Gord Stanley (d. 2016); and was pup Mom to Cookie. She lived in Orillia most of her life. She leaves behind her daughter Stephanie James (David) and her son Andrew Purvis (Cindy). Five grandchildren - Danyelle James , Robbie James, Natalie James and Ashley Cook (Purvis) and Ryan Purvis. She also leaves behind 3 great grandchildren - Ruby James, Dawson and Lauryn Cook with a fourth -baby boy James-Ruttan - due in March. She is survived by her brother Don Stoutt (Janey); and predeceased by her parents Gordon Stoutt and Margaret (Dot) Stoutt. Sandy started a career in Real Estate at the family business - Stoutt Agencies. Soon after her divorce it left her a single Mom of two very young children in 1970. She then returned to school when Andrew and Steph were in school to become a nurse. She spent most of her nursing career at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital on Harvie 4. Her calling was caring for elderly and she loved her job immensely. She ended her career with Bayshore, retiring when she was 70. She married Gord in 2001 and had many loving years being cared for by him. She has not been well since Gord died, and has struggled with various health issues over the years. She was very proud of her kids and loved them dearly. BELIEVE in miracles; Have FAITH in the power of love and always keep alive the spirit of PEACE. Remember to always have HOPE. Rest in peace Mom, I hope that you are with your parents, Gord and Cookie and I take comfort in knowing you are pain free. Love Steph. By request, no visitation or services will be held at this time.
