We are so sorry to learn of Fred's passing. Fred always shared fond memories of times visiting my parents Ken & Jessie's home, as well as sharing memories of the NL homestead. Fred loved talking about the grandchildren. I will cherish the times spent with Fred & Ruth. Our sincere condolences to Charlene, Ryan and family during this sad sad time.

The Lagoon City bid euchre group of players are saddened to hear of the passing of Fred. He lit up many faces as he attended card games in our community as well as any other ones in the area. He was like a gentle giant, always had a moment to share, a smile and a hug were always welcome. Fred was also a great volunteer and will be missed by many friends and acquaintances. Our condolences to his children and grandchildren that he loved so dearly. Ruth will be so happy to grab his hand and see that wonderful smile again. Rest in peace dear Fred.

So sorry for your loss. I reconnected with my cousin Fred at my Mom Jessie's funeral. He shared with me what he had learned about our Aboriginal family history. The information that he later sent me was a lovely contribution to my Moms side of our family tree and was instrumental in the process of adopting our son. We enjoyed keeping in touch and seeing Fred and Ruth at family gatherings when I came home to visit.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this tribute today. Bill, Jennifer, Angela and I have known the Leggo family for many years, we send you all our love and support as you grieve at this time. We first met at LeeHoMy Campground in Barrie and became good friends. We attended many Christmas gatherings in the Leggo home, shared plenty of campfires on weekends and enjoyed all the fun times at bingo, special activities in the park and the dances at Heidi's Campground. I can still recall every bingo night starting off by the sound of Fred's voice calling out "it's BINGO time" and later in the evening "it's 50/50 time", let's not forget the long list of announcements during break time either. I don't think I will ever forget how much fun it was to DJ the dances and watch Fred and Ruth dance to their favorite song "Heartbeat" by Buddy Holly, I can still see the two of them together on the dance floor. The years flew by, our children grew up, we became grand-parents, we lost loved ones, we didn't see each other as often as we used to, time has a way of changing everything except the wonderful memories we have in our hearts. I know in my heart that Fred has now been reunited with his beloved Ruth to forever dance together. Rest in peace my friend, rest in peace!
