Obituary of Crys Szafranski

Szafranski: Crystopher

It is with great sadness that we announce the very sudden passing of Crys Szafranski on 
March 21, 2019 at the age of 60.  Crys was the husband, best friend and soul mate of 
Dawn Underwood.  Loving father of Dan (Tina ) Szafranski and Shawn (Leanne ) Szafranski.
 Devoted step father to Christin Corwin. He was the son of the late Ken and 
Jean Szafranski and the son in law to Heather Anderson. He was the nephew to 
Liz Lagundzen.  Crys was the very proud grandfather to Keegan, Addison, Kaitlyn, 
Haylee, Aidan, Anthony and Arianna.  Dear brother to Henry (Kim) Szafranski, 
Christine (Ken) Carter, and Ricky Szafranski.  Loving uncle to Frank Lagundzen, 
Darren and Kevin Carter. 

Crys will be lovingly remembered by many friends, bosses and coworkers. 

He will be especially missed by his “little buddy“ Todd.  Football Sunday’s will 
never be the same.  The family would like to acknowledge the incredible nursing staff
and Dr. Maarthen Reinders at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for their 
tremendous care and sensitivity shown to Dawn and Christin after Crys’s passing.  
Visitation and services will be announced by the family at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Orillia Soldiers 
Memorial Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation through the Simcoe funeral home 
at 38 James Street E Orillia.
