Peacefully passed away at the Leacock Care Centre, Orillia on Thursday November 8th, 2018 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of the late Doreen Hislop (nee Fowler). Loving father of Craig Kerslake (Peggy) of Staffa, Calvin Hislop of Orillia, Peter Hislop (Sandra) of Orillia, Christine (Steven Turcotte) of Barrie, and the late Katherine Hislop. Cherished grandfather of Heather, Ian, Allan, Lynette, Samantha, Liza, Jordynne, Steven (Natalie), and Alicia. Great grandfather of Grace, Brian, Abigail, and Jack. Robert is predeceased by his parents Edna and George Hislop, and by his brother George (Helen survived). Dear brother of Sara Proudlove (Lorne-deceased), Vera Gibbons (Roy-deceased), Keith (Pat), Brock, Lloyd (Lenore-deceased), Bessie Whilhelm (Michael-deceased), June Zimmer (Ron-deceased), Ruth Lindner (Bill), Joan Ford, Dorothy Calder (Al-deceased), Ken (Berva), Ross (Brenda), Doug (Barb), and Joe (Hazel). Private family funeral services will held in the chapel on Thursday November 15th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation will follow. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St. E Orillia ON.
