Obituary of Betty McKean
McKean: Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Leith)
At her home in Severn on Thursday September 13th 2018 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Thomas McKean. Loving mother of Heather McKean (Edward Gettings), Gail Piggott (Brian) and Sheila Miles (Michael). Cherished grandmother of David, Amy, Laura, Jennifer and Jack. Betty will be missed by her special friends and neighbors Frank and Roxie Colbary who were always there for her. Betty and Tom sailed from Southampton aboard the RMS Queen Mary and arrived in New York on June 21, 1954. They continued by train to Toronto with plans of heading out to British Columbia but ended up settling in Toronto until moving to Brechin in April of 1970. At Betty’s request there will be no visitation or services as her remains have been donated for research to the University of Toronto Anatomy Department.
