Obituary of Shirley Atkinson
Atkinson, Lorna ‘Shirley’ (nee Jeffrey)
Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Tuesday May 22nd, 2018 at the age of 80. Shirley of Kilworthy, is the beloved wife of Dick Atkinson for 61 years. Loving mother of Cheryl Atkinson, and Brenda Nicholson. Proud grandmother ‘Nana Blue’ of Brent (Heather), Bradley (Victoria), and Neil. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her niece Carol Dorion, family and friends. The family wish to extend a special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses on Soldiers’ 1, and to Dr. Julie Gallagher for all their compassion and care. Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E Orillia on Saturday June 16th, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Tributes will be held at 4:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
