Dawn, Lisa and families:
Lynn Nunn let me know that your Mom had passed away suddenly. I am so sorry. I have very fond memories of your Mom from many years ago at Bass Lake. Candas was pretty close to my mother Frankie Cowan who cared for her greatly. I remember your Mom's laugh and lovely sense of humour, and her kindness. We hadn't been in touch for many years but Lynn would always let me know how you were all doing. I trust your Mom's qualities live on in her girls and her grandchildren.

On Tuesday of last week, we lost a member of our OSMH family with the unexpected passing of Candas Maconachie, an RN in our mental health unit. An employee of OSMH for the past 18 years, Candas graduated as a registered nurse in 1986 and worked for 13 years as a psychiatric nurse at the Penetang Mental Health Centre before coming over to OSMH in 2000.
Candas will be sorely missed by her many friends and colleagues on C6 and throughout the hospital. We extend our most sincere condolences to her family.

Heaven truly has one more BEAUTIFUL LOVING ANGEL❤️ My Aunt Candas was a huge loving part of my youth.... she always made me feel very special and loved and valued .... she took time and care with me always and showed so much interest in what was important to me.... at an early age she shared her LOVE of teaching children with me.... and as a result I chose teaching as my profession in later years.... she chose me to be her flower girl on her wedding day.... I was so thrilled and proud to have such an honour!! She was such a loving mom to Dawn and Lisa and it was so apparent that they were her true JOYS in her life!!! Her LOVE will carry on for always in your hearts Dawn and Lisa!! how BLESSED you both were to have such a strong loving BEAUTIFUL Mom!! I ll meet you once again in heaven Candas .... this I know!! I am so sorry to hear about Candas. She was a dedicated and a good caring nurse.I have worked along side of her since she came to OSMH. She will be deeply missed by all.
